Mumbai: Amid escalating tension between India and Pakistan, the country is on high alert. The Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL) Thursday issued a red alert across all 12 stations on the Versova–Andheri-Ghatkopar line. The authority requested commuters to cooperate in this situation.

A day after the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) declared high alert, the MMOPL has decided to follow suit putting all 12 stations between Ghatkopar and Versova on red alert. At around 9.30 am, they tweeted, “Basis the inputs received from security agencies, Mumbai Metro One has imposed red alert across all 12 stations with immediate effect. We seek cooperation and support from our commuters.” The Reliance Infrastructure-led MMOPL operates the 11.5km Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar metro one corridor. On Thursday, the Maharashtra government decided to end the budget session earlier than scheduled date for security reasons.

But the people have started talking about the metro alert as no other mode of public transport has declared any such alert for security purposes in the state.
