Gang of nepali burglars arrested by thane crime branch
Mumbai: The Thane police crime branch (CB) has busted a gang of burglars who hail from Nepal. They apprehended three of the gang members and recovered stolen valuables worth Rs 19.71 lakh from them. The gang had committed several break-ins in Thane and Dombivali.
In the latest case, the gang hatched a plan to rob Paresh Patil who stays with his family in Chole Gaon, Thakurli. Mr Patil’s family was away on pilgrimage to Jejuri when the accused entered his bungalow by breaking the bathroom safety grills at around 10.30pm on March 14.
Makarand Ranade, additional commissioner of police, said, “Kisan Sahi (34) had been working as a car cleaner for Mr Patil for the past 15 years. He knew about the family in detail and since they were acquainted with him, they revealed specific information about their trip.”
Mr Sahi informed the other members of the gang – Roshan alias Jeevan Saathi (25), Babu Bahadur Saathi alias Raju Ratan (32), and Jeerbahadur Saathi (24) – that the family was away.
The Thane police property cell constable Balasaheb Bhosale received a tip-off and thus the police laid a trap and apprehended them.
