Mumbai University VC should be removed for delay in results, says Shiv Sena
Mumbai: The Shiv Sena on Tuesday demanded the removal of Mumbai University's Vice Chancellor Sanjay Deshmukh over the delay in declaration of results.
The Sena, a long standing ally of the BJP, also alleged that these days the appointments in institutions of learning are being made on the basis of the inclination of the individuals towards the RSS ideology.
"Today, the appointments in institutions are being made based on their inclination towards the ideology of the Sangh. While this is being done, one should not ignore the person's capabilities and merits," an editorial in Sena mouthpiece 'Saamana' said.
"The BJP has made the (RJD-JD(U)) ministry in Bihar fall in the name of political and administrative anarchy. Applying the same standards, the BJP-led Maharashtra government should expel Mumbai University Vice Chancellor, holding him responsible for the mismanagement," it said.
The Maharashtra government had on Friday ordered an inquiry into the Vice-chancellor's role in implementing the new online assessment system, which has resulted in delay in declaring the examination results.
The Sena said ultimately students have to bear the brunt of political appointments.
