Raj Thackeray debuts on Twitter
MUMBAI: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Tuesday made his debut on Twitter, an online news and social networking service, paying tribute to the martyrs of the united Maharashtra movement, which led to the creation of Maharashra on May 1, 1960. There was a huge curiosity among his followers on the first day about his debut.
Mr Thackeray who has been active on social media off late, wants to create presence on social platforms to communicate with his party members and the people of Maharashtra. Choosing ‘Maharashtra Day’ to make the entry into the digital space,
Mr Thackeray will address youths in the state and raise many issues related to Marathi people, the sources in Maharashtra Navnirman Sena said.
Mr Thackeray tweeted, “Today is Maharashtra Day! The Marathi people formed their own state and Marathi language also got a recognition. Many have laid their lives for the state. This is the day to commemorate their efforts and understand our responsibility! Jai Maharashtra!”
