UPA started PM's newly-announced schemes, says Shiv Sena
Mumbai: The Shiv Sena on Monday continued its tirade against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, slamming the schemes he had announced during his New Year’s Eve address.
An editorial in Sena mouthpiece Saamana stated that the erstwhile UPA government had initiated most of the schemes Mr Modi announced.
The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) ally in the state government has been continuously targeting the PM over his demonetisation decision.
“People were expecting a precise answer from the PM on when the problems being faced by them would end. But possibly, the PM himself does not have any answer. Also, the PM does not have specific figures on how much black money has been retrieved after the decision was implemented.”
“What more sacrifices would be required for the situation to normalise? People were under the impression that PM Modi would apply balm. But, it does not seem Modi was very serious while he was addressing the nation.
More than 400 people lost their lives standing in queues. The families of all the deceased must be cursing the government. The schemes announced by Modi hold no value for families of those who lost their lives,” said the editorial.
The party also said that many of the schemes announced by Modi are old and have been running since the time of the UPA.
