Mumbai: Former media baron Peter Mukerjea, accused in the case involving the murder of Sheena Bora in April 2012 and is in judicial custody at Arthur Road Jail, was brought to the state-run JJ Hospital after he complained of suffering from a urological ailment.

Mukerjea has not been keeping well and comes to the hospital for regular check-ups at its Urology department, said sources. Talking to The Asian Age, Arthur Road Jail’s medical officer Dr Praful Bansod said, “He is suffering from urological ailment and needs to go to JJ hospital for regular check-ups.”

While JJ hospital’s dean, Dr T.P .Lahane said  to the paper, “Peter has an Epididymal cyst, they don’t normally require treatment  because they are usually harmless and don’t cause other symptoms.” “However, he had a cyst which is not healing, that’s the reason he was referred to a urologist to discuss the possibility of a surgery,” Lahane added. “He is suffering from diabetes and needs regular check-up and he was also recommended for sonography which has been done and reports are underway,” added Dr Bansod.

Peter, the husband of Indrani Mukerjea who was accused of killing Sheena with the help of two others in April 2012, was arrested by the CBI on November 19 in 2015 for his alleged role in the case. He has been kept at the high-security prison along with two other accused, Sanjeev Khanna and Shyamvar Rai.
