BMC polls: Two Shiv Sena corporators join BJP
Mumbai: Shiv Sena lost two of it sitting corporators on Thursday when Prabhakar Shinde and Nana Ambole joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The corporators claimed that the step was taken to ensure the implementation of their ideas.
Mr Ambole, who was the sitting corporator of Lalbaug area, joined BJP along with his wife Tejasvani and Mankhurd Shivajinagar corporator Babul Panchal along with his wife Anita and former corporator Prabhakar Shinde in the presence of BJP Mumbai president Ashish Shelar.
These corporators claimed they wanted to work with BJP under chief minister Devendra Fadnavis’ leadership for the betterment of the city. Mr Shinde said that he has entered the party to fulfil the BJP’s agenda and will discuss and work towards it. Mr Ambole said that he had worked for common man not only in his ward but also beyond that. “The BJP and I share the same thoughts and ideals which has made me join the party,” said Mr Ambole.
Mr Panchal, sniping at the Sena, said that though he had been working religiously towards the people for the tenure of five years as corporator. The Member of Parliament of my area would concentrate more on his family over his corporators.
Welcoming the three corporators, Mr Shelar said, “This party does not belong to a particular family but belongs to all those who want to work towards a better society hence I will welcome any person willing to join the party.”
Apart from Mr Panchal, Sena officials including Jagjeevan Patil, Vijay Prakash Bhoir, Madhukar Chavan, Mohan Patil, Prakash Bhoir, Dilip Shinde, Manohar Vaity, Mohsin Ali Rasheedi, Sudhakar Patil, Mahesh Kadam, Meghnath Naik, Moreshwar Tandel, Sangeeta Tetame, Pradeep Haram, Prashant Vahlam, Satish Vaydande, Suresh Todkar, Yogesh Garze, Haridas Bandgar, Nitin Vaaybhase and Shivaji Jore joined the BJP.
