Prakash Ambedkar predicts Modi, Rahul won't be PM after LS elections
Mumbai: Dalit leader Prakash Ambedkar has predicted that neither Narendra Modi nor Rahul Gandhi will become Prime Minister of the country after the Lok Sabha polls.
A dark horse like former PM HD Deve Gowda of Janata Dal (S) would emerge as the ‘dark horse’ for the top post, he said.
“In the Lok Sabha polls, the BJP would win seats in the range of 150-200, whereas the Congress would reach up to 100. The rest of the seats would go to remaining parties. In this scenario, neither Modi nor Rahul Gandhi would become the PM of the country,” he said while speaking to media at Press Club on Thursday.
“Other major regional leaders like Mamata Banerjee, Navin Patnaik, Chandrababu Naidu or K Chandrashekhar Rao do not have someone to fall back in their home state. Taking this into account, Deve Gowda is the better choice as he has also experience of being a PM,” said Mr Ambedkar.
The VBA leader claimed that the increase in voting percentage in the state has has favoured his party and it will win two seats.
Speaking about NCP chief Sharad Pawar, he said, “I have seen Mr Pawar in the race of PM candidate since 1990. So, he is there as usual.”
