Murderer's lack of remorse, concern shocks Vakola cops

On May 24, the youngster stabbed his mother Dipali nine times.

Mumbai: The Vakola police investigators are yet to come to terms with how calm and composed 21-year-old Siddhant Ganore, who was arrested for killing his mother Dipali on May 24 at their residence in Santa Cruz (east), has been throughout his interrogation.

Ganore, when produced in court for his remand on Friday, was quiet and did not say anything when the judge remanded him in judicial custody. The officials said that throughout the interrogation too, Ganore has been very composed, admitting his crime and not crying or even showing any remorse or shock at the incident.

On May 24, the youngster stabbed his mother Dipali nine times — five times in the abdomen and four times in the neck — after a fight. He also left a message in blood scratched on the floor beside the body of his mother, saying ‘Tired of her. Catch me and hang me.’ This message ended with a smiling emoticon. Following this, he fled the city and hid in Jaipur. He was arrested on May 26, from a hotel in Jodhpur where he was hiding. Sources revealed that even in Jodhpur, the youngster was calm and not speaking much. “He only told us that he had killed his mother. And he said it with such unnatural composed way, that we were shocked,” said the police source.

He added that even in court and during the interrogation, Ganore maintained the same state. “He was co-operating with us and answered all questions without any reluctance. He did not seem apologetic about what he had done neither did he seem shocked. He knew he had stabbed her and how he stabbed her. He also mentioned that he had written the message in blood,” said the source.
