CR to dismantle FOB at Neral station today
Mumbai: After dismantling the Kurla foot over-bridge (FOB) a week ago, the Central Railway (CR) on June 3 will dismantle another FOB at Neral station, which is as old as the Kalyan and Karjat lines.
The exercise will impact both suburban services and outstation trains. The CR had built a six-metre-wide FOB with two staircases at the Mumbai end in lieu of the existing Neral FOB at a cost of Rs 1.9 crore. Between 10.30am and 2.20 pm on Sunday, the CR will remove the offloaded track portal between Badlapur and Karjat stations.
According to a press note issued by the CR, owing to this exercise, there will be a change in the route of outstation and express trains. Additionally, suburban services, too, will be partially cancelled.
According to the press note, down trains such as the 17222 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus- Kakinada Express, 16339 Mumbai-Tirunelveli Nagarcoil Express, and 17031 Mumbai-Hyderabad Express, will be diverted via the Karjat-Panvel section, and will arrive 25 to 30 minutes late at Lonavala.
The CR spokesperson said, “The Nagarcoil Express and Mumbai-Hyderabad Express will halt at Diva for passengers boarding from Kalyan. Up trains 17032 Hyderabad-Mumbai Express, 11042 Chennai-Mumbai Express will be diverted with a halt at Diva for Kalyan passengers.”
