MNS, Congress, SFI continue protest fest at Mumbai University campus

The main demand was resignation of the Mumbai University's vice-chancellor and declaration of results at the earliest.

Mumbai: The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) protested outside the Mumbai University’s Kalina campus on Wednesday. The main demand of these groups, apart from the resignation of the Vice-Chancellor Sanjay Deshmukh, is to help the students grab seats the moment all the results are declared.

MNS’s youth wing, Akhil Chitre, said, “Most of the students who wanted to go abroad to study would now have to manage in the city itself. Hence, we demanded to increase the number of seats and intake at every college affiliated under the university so the students can take admission.”

Chitre met VC after the protest. He further added, “Our demand is, at every college, the seat intake should be increased by 20 per cent so each and every student should get admission comfortably.”

Other than MNS, Congress and Students Federation of India (SFI) groups continued to protest where their demand was VC’s resignation and to declare all the results as soon as possible.
