BJP declares second list of candidates
Mumbai: The BJP late on Wednesday night declared its second list with 14 names for the state Assembly election.
However, senior Cabinet ministers Vinod Tawde, Chandrashekhar Bawankule, former minister Prakash Mehta, the party’s chief whip Raj Purohit and veteran leader Eknath Khadse’s names did not feature in the list.
The BJP has denied a ticket to sitting Udgir MLA Sudhakar Bhalerao, who has been replaced by Dr Anil Kamble.
In the second list, three turncoats — Namita Mundada, Gopaldas Agrawal and Gopichanda Padalkar — have been given tickets.
According to the list, Mr Agrawal will contest the election from Gondia, while Ms Mundada and Mr Padalkar will contest from Kaij and Baramati respectively.
Kumar Ailani has also been given a ticket from Ulhasnagar. The BJP had released its first list on Tuesday with 125 names.
