Protesters force offices to close, intimidate employees to leave

Most schools and colleges in Bandra faced a similar dilemma and were forced to call off classes.

Mumbai: Bhim Sainiks forced shops and educational institutions to shut down from Bandra to Dadar and resorted to’'rasta roko’ on S V Road at Bandra and 'rail roko' at Dadar. Most private establishments were also forced to shut down. The police conducted flag marches to ensure that there was no violent incident in any of these areas.

An employee of a logistics company situated in Andheri said, “Some people came to our office and told her to leave. They forced the security to lock the office. As we came out, we saw that all of the offices in the area were forced to shut.”

Around noon parents started receiving calls and messages from school asking them to pick up their children as school were forced to close down. According to a parent from Bandra, at around noon she received a message from Carmel Convent School where her daughter studies that she should come and collect her daughter.

“I went there and as some parents had requested me to collect their daughters too, I took them home. There was no

violence but some groups carrying flags of various hues and colours coaxed people to go and stay at home,” said the other of the class V student.
