Protests at Worli Naka, Tardeo RTO
The Mumbai police faced a lot of flack for showing restrain in dealing with the protestors, most of who consisted of women and children.
Mumbai: Protesters headed by Republican Sena chief, Anand Raj Ambedkar stormed the junction near Tardeo’s regional transport office and Worli Naka bringing traffic to and from south Mumbai to a total standstill during the bandh called on Wednesday by Dalit groups in the state.
The Mumbai police faced a lot of flack for showing restrain in dealing with the protestors, most of who consisted of women and children. Officials said that they wanted to avoid ruckus so they did not deal with the protestors sternly. Most of the activists were found indulging in clicking selfies and videos. At Worli Naka, traffic was blocked after protestors thronged the junction shouting slogans.
