Medha Gadgil goes on leave

Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis had appointed Mr Jain as a Chief Secretary in a recent reshuffle.

Mumbai: Additional Chief Secretary of Rehabilitation department Medha Gadgil has gone on a long leave for a month and ACS home Sudhir Shrivastava has also gone on leave for four days.

These has led to major speculations in bureaucracy and in the state political circles as both of them were reportedly upset after being ignored for the post chief secretary. D.K. Jain was appointed as Chief Secretary superseding these two.

Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis had appointed Mr Jain as a Chief Secretary in a recent reshuffle.

Mr Jain, Ms Gadgil and Mr Shrivastava are the officers of the same 1983 IAS batch, Ms Gadgil and Mr Shirivastava are senior to Mr Jain.

CM Fadnavis preferred Mr Jain as Ms Gadgil’s husband is Spokesperson of Congress and Mr Shrivastava is not in cordial terms with CMO. Both of them were upset with CM’s decision and hence Ms Gadgil went on long leave, said sources.
