Bhagyashree’s husband held for gambling

Mumbai: The Amboli police have arrested husband of yesteryear actor Bhagyashree in connection with a gambling case on Wednesday. The accused, identified as Himalaya Dasani, who is an actor-turned-film producer, was apprehended after his name cropped up during the course of investigation in a gambling racket that was recently busted in Jogeshwari, police said.

“We were interrogating the busted racket, when one arrested accused named Dasani as one of their operators. We further probed into the same and arrested him after his role was verified,” said an officer of Amboli police station.

The police booked Dasani under the sections of Gambling Act and officials added that the sections are bailable and hence he was granted bail. The police said that the investigation in the case is still underway.

In another gambling raid by the Amboli police late on Tuesday, the officials arrested Chandkishor Khanna alias Mamaji (58) and Ruchit Arora (43), from Amritsar. The police seized four mobile phones, four notebooks, eight ATM cards of various banks, six SIM cards and cash Rs 17,600 from them.
