Yash Wadali applies for bail after molestation charges
Mumbai: A day after a woman accused him of molestation and assault, singer Yash Pal Singh (aka Yash Wadali), on Thursday filed an anticipatory bail application before the Dindoshi court.
Wadali’s lawyer Falguni Brahmbhatt in the bail plea said that the complaint has been lodged at the Bangur Nagar police station, Malad due to ego issue of the complainant. Ms Brahmbhatt has stated in the bail plea that Wadali did not sign a song on her demand. It is claimed that the complaint is false and frivolous due to personal vendetta and out of vengeance.
Wadali in his application has termed the complaint as baseless. He has claimed that the entire story of the FIR is false and it is not just a blatant lie but also a conspiracy to falsely implicate him.
It is further contended in the application that Wadali does not know the complainant. He was also one of the guests at the party organised by Nirmal Kumar Mishra at Garden Estate, Goregaon.
In his application, Wadali has stated that he is the last person to abuse or hurt a woman. “Nothing happened as alleged by the complainant. There are witnesses who can say the truth,” he said. Wadali has alleged that the complainant herself was drunk and was not in her senses. She was allegedly bothering the applicant by insisting to sing a song.
The prosecution story is that on August 1 at the birthday party of Mishra, at around 4 am the complainant requested Wadali to sing a song. She has alleged that Wadali was in an inebriated state and started shouting at her and pulled the collar of her shirt after an argument.
The woman claimed that Wadali outraged her modesty and hence she filed a complaint with police.
