WR receives pleasantries on cleanliness helpline

The WR has received 22 complaints from July 29 to August 2.

Mumbai: In order to clean the railway stations, the Western Railway (WR) has come up with WhatsApp number 9004499733 to file complaints regarding cleanliness, but it is observed that most of the commuters are sending greetings such as ‘Hi’, ‘Hello’, and ‘Good Morning’ instead. The WR has received 22 complaints from July 29 to August 2. The help line is interactive and informs the complainant about the status.

Of the 22 complaints, 16 have been resolved and remaining six has been forwarded to the engineering department and BMC as it pertains to their department.

An official of WR said that we are receiving complaints on everyday basis but most of the persons are sending greetings and some of them send texts to check whether the WhatsApp number is working or not.

Officials said that works of engineering department are going on 20 stations of Mumbai division, of these, five stations have not been cleaned due to debris. The department has been directed to remove it.      

Sujeet Singh (35), who had sent a picture of Garbage outside Khar station to the WhatsApp number on Wednesday, said, “ I have been informed that the jurisdiction is not under the railway, they will inform to the BMC, but the BMC has not taken action till date.”
