Jammu & Kashmir situation angers Aaditya Thackeray

A senior political analyst Abhay Deshpande said, Aaditya's reaction was quite natural since he has been projected as the CM candidate by the party.

Mumbai: As a sign that Shiv Sena leader and Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray is preparing to assert himself as a political entity, Thackeray Jr on Saturday expressed angst over Centre’s decision to halt the Amarnath Yatra.

His comments deem significance as the Sena has refrained from targeting the BJP since the party forged an alliance in the Lok Sabha polls.

“The advisory to Amarnath Yatra pilgrims & tourists to exit Jammu & Kashmir due to terror threats is extremely angering. I’m sure we have the strength to purge out terrorists from J&K at the will of our Govt and not give into these threats, while ensuring safety of every pilgrim (sic),” Aaditya tweeted after the Centre on Friday cancelled the Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir and asked the pilgrims to return immediately.

“I have full faith that our govt and armed forces will purge these terrorists who threaten our pilgrims and tourists and make J&K safe again,” he later tweeted.

A senior political analyst Abhay Deshpande said, “Aaditya’s reaction was quite natural since he has been projected as the CM candidate by the party. With his statement on Amarnath Yatra, he has shown that he is capable of commenting on national issues.”
