Insiders responsible for Rohini's loss, says Eknath Khadse

Earlier too, Mr Khadse had slammed Mr Fadnavis' decision to form the government with the support of NCP leader Ajit Pawar.

Mumbai: Following its failed bid to form the government in the state, the discontent within the BJP has started coming to the fore. Senior leader Eknath Khadse on Tuesday alleged that people within the party were responsible for the defeat of his daughter Rohini Khadse and Pankaja Munde.

“Some people indulged in anti-party activities to aid the defeat of BJP candidates in the polls. Ms Khadse lost due to the same reason. The supporters of Ms Munde are also claiming the same thing,” he said. He claimed that he has sent the names of these people, along with proof, to the party top brass and demanded action against them.

About Ms Munde’s defeat, he said, “Her supporters are claiming that some people in the party helped her cousin and NCP leader Dhananjay Munde in the election. In case of Ms Khadse, some of the party workers campaigned against her openly. I have sent the names of these people to Devendra Fadnavis and state BJP chief Chandrakant Patil. However, no action has been taken against them so far.”

Earlier too, Mr Khadse had slammed Mr Fadnavis’ decision to form the government with the support of NCP leader Ajit Pawar. “My personal opinion is that BJP should not have taken the support of Ajit Pawar. He is an accused in the massive irrigation scam and faces many allegations,” he had said.

When it was pointed out that the BJP had earlier claimed to have proof of the corruption charges against Ajit Pawar, Mr Khadse had asserted, “There was a cart full of evidence but it seems we dumped it in scrap.”
