MMRDA floats tenders for metro lines
Mumbai: The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has floated tenders for the two Metro projects that were inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi in his visit to the city on December 24.
The tenders for the DN Nagar to Mankhurd Metro-2B, and Wadala to Kasarvadavali Metro-4, were fasttracked in which the design and construct elevated viaducts and stations were specified.
MMRDA spokesperson Dilip Kawathkar said, “We have invited tenders from eligible contractors for 5 packages on the 23.5-km long DN Nagar to Mankhurd Metro-2B corridor (Rs 10,986 crore)”. He further added, “The 5 packages are – ESIC Nagar to Khira Nagar, Saraswat Nagar to ILFS in BKC, MTNL Metro to Chembur, Diamond Garden to Mandale (Depot) and for designing and constructing elevated viaducts for railway crossings near Kurla on Central Railway and near Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.”
The second metro line of the 32-km long Wadala to Kasarvadavali (Rs 14,549 crore) were also invited for 5 packages. These 5 packages are – Wadala to Amar Mahal Junction, Garodia Nagar to Surya Nagar, Gandhi Nagar to Sonapur, Mulund Fire Station to Majiwada and Kapurbawdi to Kasarvadavali.
A pre-bid meeting for the investors will also be held on January 31 at 11.00 am and the last date to submit tenders is March 10. The tender documents will be available from January 9 to March 8, 2017 up to 6 pm on payment of non-refundable tender processing fee of Rs 1 lakh.
