Mumbai: A social activist on Thursday filed a PIL in the Bombay high court (HC) demanding that guidelines be framed for the way and mode in which the post-mortem of dead bodies, especially females, be carried out in the presence of qualified female staff.
“I wrote to 17 authorities, including Prime Minister, the Maharashtra CM, ministers and officials related to the medical field, complaining about disrespect to female dead bodies by untrained male staff and sweepers during the post mortem. I waited for two months but when I did not receive any response I decided to file a PIL,” said Khatri.
