Mumbai: On the first day of its operation, the much-delayed second phase of the Mumbai Monorail was halted Monday due to technical glitches.

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) officials blamed the delay to the innocuous floral decorations on the coaches used for its inauguration. To remove the decorations, coaches were to be hauled to the depot for about 10 minutes as these garlan-ds got entangled in the lo-wer portion of the train, obstructing operations, they said.
