Mumbai: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis declared on Saturday night that the 7th Pay Commission would be implemented for state government employees from January 1, 2019.

Some union leaders, however, are not willing to wait for another six months. The Maharashtra government will pay all arrears including the pending dearness allowance.
