Mumbai: A policeman was allegedly killed by three youths after they were reprimanded for loitering late in the night at Achalpur in Amravati district on Tuesday. Assistant sub-inspector Shantilal Patel (55) was returning home on his motorcycle after night patrolling when the three, while riding a bike hit him from behind with an iron rod around 3.30 am. Mr Patel was rushed to a hospital, but succumbed to injuries during treatment. “The three arrested were drunk and were scolded by the patrolling team for loitering near the bus stand in the wee hours around 2 am,” said Amravati superintendent of police Filip Zalke. The three arrested are Kedar Sarkate, Nayan Mandle and Milan Kholapure.
