Mumbai: After a lull, the Anti-Human Trafficking Wing of the Thane (rural) police have resumed  their drive to weed out illegal immigrants staying in the region. A team led by API Sanjay Bangar rounded up four men suspected to be of Bangladeshi origin from the Nityananad Nagar area of Kashimira on Friday night.

After the suspects failed to produce legitimate documents to authorize their stay in the country, they were arrested and booked under the relevant sections of the Indian Passport Act and Foreigners Act.  “From now on such crackdowns will be a routine practice in a much more intensified  manner.” said Bangar while tagging a note of caution to those who employ staff especially domestic helps without verifying credentials.
