Mumbai: Seasoned politician and former chief minister Narayan Rane said that he had quit the Shiv Sena in 2005 owing to Uddhav Thackeray in an interview to the BBC Marathi.

He also said that his autobiography would expose many of those from the party.

Last month, Mr Rane’s younger son and MLA Nitesh Rane tweeted about his father’s autobiography saying, “An autobiography of my father and mentor coming soon! In his own words. Ab aayega maza..sabka hisab hoga!”

When asked about what his son’s tweet meant,

Mr Rane said that since the autobiography would be going to expose many of them, Nitesh had probably made this statement.

Mr Rane has penned down his journey from joining the Shiv Sena to quitting it. He has also written about the his tenure in Congress and his entry into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). However, he did not join the BJP and floated his own party Maharashtra Swabhiman Paksha.

He looks forward to inform people of his journey from rags to riches and how he became chief minister from being a mill worker’s son.

Highlighting the needs of his autobiography, he said the treatments, which were given to him in Shiv Sena and Congress, should be directly communicated to the people. Chief Devendra Fadnavis would  be releasing the autobiography soon.

“I have written about Balasaheb Thackeray, Uddhav Thackeray and former chief minister Manohar Joshi,” Mr Rane said.

He has also written about the work culture of UPA chairperson and former Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi. The Congress party had promised him to make chief minister of Maharashtra in six months but they could not do it for 12 years.
