Surrender yourself to cops, court tells Kulkarni
Mumbai: The Bombay high court has asked DSK Developers Limited’s Shirish Kulkarni to surrender himself before the police and asked him to withdraw his bail application. The court said that he couldn’t claim that he has no connections with DSK.
A single bench of Justice Sadhana Jadhav was hearing the anticipatory bail application (ABA) of Shirish Kulkarni, son of DSK chairman Deepak Kulkarni. When the application came up for the hearing, the court said that Shirish Kulkarni couldn’t recuse himself from the company. “Therefore, we are not ready to hear his ABA. The court further directed Kulkarni to withdraw his application and surrender before the police.
On February 17 this year, D.S. Kulkarni and his wife Hemanti were arrested from Delhi. Their arrest was made immediately after the high court vacated the stay on his arrest. Deepak Kulkarni, a founder of the DSK Group, allegedly duped 2,500 investors of more than '200 crore.
The Kulkarni couple was booked under sections 3 and 4 of Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (MPID) Act. Sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
