Mumbai: The railway authorities dismissed the rumours that a building in Jogeshwari collapsed after a crane which is being used for railway work fell on it on Saturday morning.

According to officials, rumours of building collapse emerged when work related to the extension of Harbour line from Andheri to Goregaon was underway.

Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC) chief managing director Prabhat Sahai confirmed the incident but said that no injuries were reported, and the building didn’t collapse.

He said, “The building did not collapse. Only the arm of the hydraulic pump on the balcony of a building was damaged after the crane sank. However, no injuries were reported.”

The Habour line extension has been marred with controversies as the MRVC had to fight with shop owners as the structures were on the alignment path of the extension to Goregaon.
