MMRC signs mou to plant 20,900 trees
It signed a Memorandum of Understanding with SGNP for tree-plantation on Wednesday stating that, it would be maintained for seven years.
MUMBAI: The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) will plant 20,900 trees inside the Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP).
It signed a Memorandum of Understanding with SGNP for tree-plantation on Wednesday stating that, it would be maintained for seven years.
As per the permission accorded by the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) tree authority, MMRC will use 19 hectares of land allocated by SGNP for this afforestation.
While 10,450 trees will be planted as compensatory plantation, the remaining will be part of their Corporate Social Responsiblity activity. The land will be allocated to MMRC
post a tree plantation survey done by Sanjay Gandhi Nation Park authorities.
