Students fear Mumbai University's plan to go with same assessment firm
Mumbai: While the University of Mumbai (MU) has got another chance to ensure that the technical glitches it faced with the new online assessment system are not repeated, the students do not have much hope from it after having seen it allegedly cause a four-month delay in the declaration of the final year examination results. “We saw our seniors suffer because of the delay in their results. They lost really good job opportunities and were left demotivated because of the result mess. It is difficult to believe that they are still planning to go on with the system,” said Rahul Gaikwad, a student.
However, The MU officials and the government are positive as they feel that they have started the preparations earlier for the winter examination assessment.
Sachin Pawar, president, Students Law Council feels that it is impossible to assess all the papers without a pilot run. “There is no planning department at MU, everything is just being said verbally. Moreover, MU isn’t afraid of anything. Even if they delay the results this time too, they know that nothing is going to happen to them,” Mr Pawar.
This year, the results of the final year students were delayed by four and a half months because of lack of proper planning and management.
