Police waiting for rapist' to return from Europe
Mumbai: The police may issue a lookout notice for the founder-director of an IB school in Andheri, who is accused of raping a three-year-old minor girl last November. The accused is currently in Europe, escorting students on an international trip and is likely to return on June 25. He is said to have left the country before the police could file an FIR against him on May 18.
The accused person’s wife told the police that he is to return to the country by June 25. However, if he fails to return, the lookout notice will be issued. According to the police, the wife has refuted the allegations levelled against her husband, claiming that he is innocent. The police officials are now probing the case from all angles to get to the root of the allegations made by the victim’s mother.
The ex-wife of the accused, who works in the same school as a co-founder and a trustee, has told the police that her ex-husband has never been accused of such an allegation before. She was seen backing her ex-husband. His wife too has taken his side, refuting all allegations as baseless, stating that he would never do anything of this sort, let alone to a minor girl.
Now, the police are waiting for the accused to return to the country after which the police will bring him to the police station for questioning where he will be given the chance of presenting his side of the story and the police will get an understanding of the facts and the sequence of the events related to the crime.
