MahaRERA penalises Runwal group

The authority discovered that the developer had not disclosed the IoD (intimation of disapproval) for two of its buildings on the MahaRERA website..

Mumbai: The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has imposed a penalty of Rs 10 lakh on the Runwal Group for its housing project in Mulund.

The authority discovered that the developer had not disclosed the IoD (intimation of disapproval) for two of its buildings on the MahaRERA website. A total of five building were registered with the authority by the developer, of which, the fourth and fifth building were registered as proposed projects.

The order read, “The respondent had valid and subsisting sanctions, in the form of IoDs, for the fourth and fifth building on the date of registering the said project with MahaRERA, but failed to upload the said approvals on MahaRERA webpage.”

“Under provisions of section 60 of the said Act, a penalty of Rs 500,000 each for the two non-disclosed IoDs is imposed, and the respondent is hereby directed to pay the penalty of Rs 10 lakh within 30 days from the date of order,” the order read.
