Kadam has apologised, so matter over: Chandrakant Patil

Patil also appealed to media persons to report comments on any issue in the exact same sense as the commentator.

Mumbai: Revenue minister and senior BJP leader Chandrakant Patil made it clear that after the apology tendered by MLA Ram Kadam for his controversial remarks about girls, the issue should have ended by now. He said that political leaders should exercise caution while speaking and that the media should report in the correct sense. Meanwhile, the BJP continued to keep silent over the issue and did not take any action against Kadam.

“Kadam does not have a history of making derogatory statements against women. On the contrary, he is known for helping women in the constituency and thousands of women tie rakhi on his hand,” said Patil. He was quick to warn politicians saying, “They should be very cautious while speaking on public platforms and they should properly frame their sentences before uttering single words.”

Patil also appealed to media persons to report comments on any issue in the exact same sense as the commentator. Mr Patil made it clear that Kadam was not arrogant and had tendered an apology and therefore, the matter should be considered as over now.
