CBI court allows ED to investigate Peter Mukerjea
Mumbai: A special CBI court on Thursday granted permission to Enforcement Directorate (ED) to interrogate former media baron Peter Mukerjea in the money laundering case registered in Delhi, allegedly involving former finance minister P Chidambaram's son Karti.
ED in its application had sought permission to interrogate Peter as currently he is in judicial custody. The judge allowed their application and said they can interrogate him on Friday and Saturday.
ED in May had registered a case under Prevention of Money Laundering Act against Karti, INX Media and its directors Peter and Indrani and others. The ED last week has already interrogated Indrani with court’s permission.
According to the ED, the accused have siphoned 90 million Great Britain Pounds (GBP) and this money is suspected to have gone to foreign countries through unauthorised route of hawala.
