Jayant Patil criticises BJP manifesto cover

Mr Patil also slammed the BJP saying that it should have an apology letter ahead of the Lok Sabha elections instead of a manifesto.

Mumbai: The National Congress Party’s (NCP) state president Jayant Patil Monday criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) manifesto cover, saying that the BJP’s 2014 manifesto had photos of 11 leaders whereas the 2019 manifesto has only Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s picture, which meant that the ten leaders who dedicated their five years to serving the government had been discarded.

Mr Patil also slammed the BJP saying that it should have an apology letter ahead of the Lok Sabha elections instead of a manifesto. “The BJP has not done anything for the development of the country in past five years. Labourers, farmers and employees are annoyed with the party’s performance. It has cheated the country and the manifesto is a jumla manifesto,” Mr Patil tweeted on Monday.

NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik said, “The BJP should not have taken efforts to come up with a 2019 manifesto. The 2014 manifesto could have served the purpose because the maximum of the promises are the same”.

While, Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant said, “The BJP is heading towards dictatorship by publishing only Narendra Modi’s picture on the manifesto”.
