SSC results: 13,000 score above 90 per cent
Konkan division has the highest pass percentage of 96% followed by Kolhapur with 93.88%.
MUMBAI: More than 13,000 students have scored above 90 per cent in their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations, the results of which were announced by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) on Friday.
With a pass percentage of 90.41 in the Mumbai division, girls have once again outshone boys by 4.95 per cent. In the entire state, the Mumbai division stands fourth in terms of the highest pass percentage. The Konkan division has the highest pass percentage of 96 per cent followed by Kolhapur with 93.88, Pune with 92.08, and then Mumbai. This year, 3.39 lakh students appeared for the SSC examinations, out of which, 3.06 lakh students passed the examinations.
Four students in Mumbai and its suburbs have created history by scoring 100 per cent in their SSC examinations. Shrutika Mahajan, a student from Dombivali, re-checked her jaw-dropping percentage four to five times. “I could not believe it. This is more than what I expected and I am so happy to get a perfect 100,” Shrutika told this newspaper. “I will opt for science but I am not sure what I want to do in science. It will be either engineering or architecture as I love drawing,” she said.
Bhavik Bharambe, another student from Dombivali, who scored 100 per cent without any coaching classes or extra classes, said, “I studied all by myself for at least four to five hours every day. I never went to any coaching classes, so I prepared a timetable for myself and followed it religiously. I want to take science in future and appear for the JEE examinations.”
Sanika Gaikwad, who scored 99.80 per cent, said, “I believe in time management and hence, I charted out what to study and when. A month before my board exams, I completed all my studies and only after that, I thoroughly revised all the lessons.”
The Mumbai division had 994 exam centres and over 3,679 schools in Mumbai, Mumbai suburbs, Thane, Palghar and Raigad regions. Of the 3,679 schools, 816 schools scored 100 per cent results in the Mumbai division.
