CM Fadnavis busy with his yatra: Balasaheb Thorat
Mumbai: Maharashtra Congress president Balasaheb Thorat on Thursday slammed the state government over the flood situation in the state.
Speaking with the reporters at Tilak Bhavan in Mumbai, Mr Thorat said that the NDRF and administration were not doing enough to handle the situation and urged the government to call the military for rescue operations. He also demanded an immediate package of Rs 4,000 crore from the Centre for relief and rehabilitation in flood-affected areas.
“Lakhs of people have been displaced in Kolhapur, Satara and Sangli due to floods. However, instead of providing them assistance, the chief minister is busy in ‘Maha Janadesh Yatra’. The plight of the flood-affected people is not reaching the chief minister’s ears, which is unfortunate,” Mr Thorat said.
