Mumbai: The police has ruled out any foul play in the death of Pallavi Vikamsey (21), whose body was discovered on the railway tracks near Currey Road on Wednesday.

They have now called it a case of suicide based on the nature of the text messages message that Pallavi sent her sister-in-law, in which she apologised and said nobody was to be blamed for her death. The police is now interrogating her friends to discover the reason behind her suicide.

The MRA Marg police, who had earlier filed a missing persons complaint and later turned it into an accidental death report (ADR), are quizzing her close friends, including the ones at the firm where she was interning. The police is trying to find out if Pallavi was going through any problems, either on the personal or professional front, or whether she was suicidal.

One of her close friends had claimed that she was ‘depressed’ since a few weeks, but the reason is not clear, according to the police. Pallavi’s sister-in-law, Sharayu, who received a text message from her minutes before her suicide, is yet to be questioned as she is still in deep shock.

Manoj Kumar Sharma, deputy commissioner of police zone 1 told The Asian Age, “Right now we have not found out what has triggered her suicide, but her call data records (CDR) have not revealed anything suspicious as of now. The investigation is underway with numerous enquiries being made with her acquaintances.”
