Suitcase with headless body found outside Kalyan station
Mumbai: A headless body of a female was found in a suitcase outside Kalyan railway station on Sunday. The Thane police, meanwhile, has filed a case and is trying to identify a person who was captured by a CCTV camera, carrying the bag with his face covered.
The incident comes days after a musician was hacked to death and was chopped and stuffed inside a suitcase.
The locals apotted the woman’s mortal remains were found inside the un-claimed suitcase dumped at a taxi stand outside the railway station.
The busy station premises is always clogged with traffic and pedestrians, officials said.
The police checked the bag and after the corpse was found in it, they scanned the CCTV camera of the premises and found a suspect.
The cameras had captured a man who was seen dragging the bag and covering his face with a scarf.
“We are checking the footage from other cameras to find out from where he made his way to the spot. There is still no clarity on the accused or the place from he originated,” said an officer of Thane city police.
The police is verifying if there were any eyewitnesses to the act or if any rickshaw or cabbie ferried him to the spot with the bag.
The officials were gathering details of missing persons from all the police stations in the district and neighbouring areas to check whether any woman has been reported missing.
The police has filed a case of murder against unknown persons as per the provisions of IPC.
