PM Modi blames Congress for partition
Ausa (Latur): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday called the Congress manifesto as ‘dhakosala patra’ and a wish-list of Pakistan. Addressing an election rally at Ausa in Latur district, Mr Modi blamed the Congress party for the creation of Pakistan.
“Pakistan would not have been created if the Congress had remained strong in 1947. And the Congress says sedition law will be removed?” Mr Modi said.
The PM also attacked the Congress on the issue of human rights violation. He said that going by the Congress’s history, the party has no right to lecture others on human rights. While the Congress has promised to revoke the sedition law, Mr Modi said that it should take a look at its track record when it comes to misuse of the said law.
Mr Modi also alleged that the Congress had taken away Shiv Sena supreme Balasaheb Thac-keray’s citizenship and voting rights. Mr Thackeray was banned from exercising his franchise in the late nineties for six years, after he was found indulging in ‘corrupt practice by seeking votes in the name of religion’ at a public rally. The ruling was given by the Bombay high court and upheld by the Supreme Court.
Mr Modi was addressing an election campaign rally, for the first time since 2014 Assembly polls in state, where he shared a dais with Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray. As a mark of newly found friendship between the two saffron allies, Mr Modi termed Uddhav as his younger brother.
The joint rally of Maha-yuti to campaign for Bhar-atiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Sudhakar Shrungare on a reserved scheduled caste seat in Latur and Sena’s Omraje Nimbalkar from neighbouring Osmanabad, witnessed sizeable turnout, one of the biggest in Marathwada.
Mr Modi further added that the country’s security had been at stake from pa-st several decades due to the Congress and it’s allies. “The Congress and NCP are supporting those parties, who want a separate Prime Minister for the Jammu & Kashmir (J&K),” he said. He said that the country does not have any expectation from the Congress.
Slamming Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar of su-pporting the Congress, Mr Modi said “Will this suit you Mr Pawar?” He further added, “Those who are speaking about separating J&K and having separate PM for it, the country had trusted them and they ruled for decades. However, the country has now understood for whom they had worked for.”
Mr Modi further asked “Will they improve the condition of the Jammu and Kashmir? Can we trust on them?”
Reverting to the Opposi-tion’s attack over Balakh-ot strike, the PM said, “As soon as a lie against India emerges from any part of the world, the Opposition merely picks it up to make space in media for two days. How many evidences will the Congress need from the Air Force?” He asserted that those who do not trust the government and the armed forces, need to be punished.
Attacking the Congress’s manifesto, Mr Modi said “Their dhaksola patra is only for vote, and our sankalp patra is for voters. The Congress’s manifesto will expire on May 23, but our sankalp patra is meant for five years.”
