Tech glitch on trans-harbour delays services
Mumbai: Due to a technical failure in a local train in the Thane-Vashi section, suburban services were affected on the Trans-Harbour line on Tuesday morning. The local train was detained at Vashi and then sent to the Sanpada carshed. According to commuters, trains were delayed by 20 to 30 minutes at least.
In another incident on the Harbour line, a plastic pipe was found entangled in the wheels of a local train at platform No 1 of Mankhurd station. But Central Railway spokespersons have denied the incident.
Commuter Atul Kumar, who was travelling between Vashi and Dadar via the Trans-Habour line, said, “The train was late by half an hour leading to over crowding at several stations. I boarded the train at Vashi at 6.10 am and it reached Thane by 7.20 am. There were heavy crowds in Thane. However, there was an announcement about the technical problems at Thane station. They said that there was a problem in the Thane-Vashi section.”
A CR official said there was a problem in Vashi as the rake developed a technical issue. As the rake did not reach Thane, the Vashi-bound service was cancelled leading to delays.
