Court turns down Kadam's bail plea

The Bombay high court has rejected the bail application filed by former NCP MLA Ramesh Kadam.

Mumbai: The Bombay high court has rejected the bail application filed by former NCP MLA Ramesh Kadam. He was arrested in connection with the multicrore Annabhau Sa-the Mahamandal scam. The court, while rejecting his plea, held that Kadam’s behaviour in jail was not good and if he were released on bail, he could threaten or influence witnesses.

Justice Ajay Gadkari was hearing the bail plea. He stated in the application that police was unn-ecessarily delaying the probe. During the hearing, the public prosecutor argued that Kadam is the main accused in the scam and he had wrongfully shown beneficiaries in the Mahamandal. The police has arrested 12 ac-cused in the scam so far.
