10 teams formed to track accused
Mumbai: A day after Yug Tuli, also known as Duke Tuli, the co-owner of Mojo’s Bistro, was spotted with his wife at Hyderabad airport on Tuesday, the Mumbai police told mediapersons on Wednesday that it has set up 10 teams to track the three others absconding in the case. Questions are being raised as to how Tuli, who presented himself at the NM Joshi police station last Thursday for questioning in the case, managed to hoodwink the police and feel the city. On asked if the police had kept Tuli under surveillance in the city, a Mumbai police spokesperson just said the police was doing its job.
“We are doing our work efficiently. Our investigation against him is on the right track and we will arrest him soon,” Mumbai police spokesperson Deepak Devraj, who is DCP (Operations), said. “A total of 10 teams have been formed to search for all absconders in the Kamala Mills case. Five of the teams are in Maharashtra and the rest are spread over three different states. The police has issued a lookout notice against Tuli and is questioning his family members to know his whereabouts.” The police had incidentally shared few details with the media in its probe till Tuli disappeared.
Till Thursday, Tuli and the other co-owner of Mojo’s Bistro, Yug Pathak had been named in a case which was registered under MRTP for allegedly building illegal extensions. Under MRTP, there is no provision for arrest. On Friday, the fire department in its preliminary report stated that it was Mojo’s Bistro from which the fire allegedly began. A day later, the police levelled section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) against Tuli and Pathak. Pathak was arrested on Saturday and a summons issued against Tuli, asking him to present himself for questioning on Monday, which he did not comply with. It is suspected he left the city after Friday..
