Adivasi couple commits suicide in Kandivali east
Mumbai: An Adivasi couple committed suicide in Janupada area of Samta Nagar at Kandivali east. The couple was found hanging from a tree in the jungle and was discovered by the deceased woman’s brother. The couple has been identified as Krishna Warke (35) and Neelam Bhoir (21). While the former was married to another woman with two kids, the latter had left her husband. When the couple realised they could not live together, they allegedly decided to end their lives. The Samta Nagar police has registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR).
According to sources, Warke and Bhoir had an extra-marital affair since past three months and Bhoir’s family had learnt about the same. When their families disapproved of their relationship, the couple grew upset. Warke’s wife was unaware of his affair with Neelam. Warke was working as a gardener in a nearby park and Bhoir had left her husband and was staying with her mother.
Senior police inspector of Samta Nagar police station told The Asian Age, “The two deceased persons were missing from their respective houses since Friday morning and were nowhere to be found. Later, their bodies were discovered by Neelam’s brother who was on a walk, following which he alerted the police officials.”
The matter is undergoing investigation to ascertain if their suicide was abetted by anyone else. Warke’s wife, who has two kids with him, was unaware of his affair with Neelam.
