Kin hopes site will help prove innocence'
Mumbai: In an attempt to prove the innocence of 12 convicts of Mumbai’s July 2006 serial train blasts, their family members and an acquitted accused, Abdul Wahid Shaikh, launched a website on Monday, a day before the 11th anniversary of the blasts.
The website has case-related details and evidence produced before the court.
Mr Shaikh said the launch of the website is part of the fight to bring out the truth in the 7/11 case.
According to him all the thirteen accused, including himself, are victims of the serial train blasts and the fight to prove their innocence is in the interest of justice.
“The website will bring out the untold real stories of these youths by giving de-tails on how they were arrested, tortured and falsely implicated in the case,” he said.
According to the family members of the accused, the website will be a dossier on the complete trial, the witness statements, the anomalies and loopholes in the prosecution’s theory.
“The website intends to bring forth all the hidden and false stories behind the investigation so as to highlight the glaring mistakes of the ATS and the suffering of these youths and their families, who are the victims of incompetence of the ATS and their highhandedness,” read a press note issued when the website was launched on Monday at Marathi Patrakar Sangh, in Mumbai.
Family members of the convicts and their defence lawyers, including Yug Mohit Chaudhary, Khan Abdul Wahab, Sharif Shaikh, were also present when the website was launched.
