The police has formed two teams to nab the unidentified kidnapper who is absconding.

Mumbai: A three-year-old boy, who was kidnapped by an unknown person from Vashi station three days ago, was found in Kalwa on Saturday. The Vashi police officials reunited the boy with his parents after they received a call from Government Railway Police (GRP) who found the minor at Kalwa station. The police has formed two teams to nab the unidentified kidnapper who is absconding.

On Wednesday, a drug-addict had kidnapped a three-year-old boy from Vashi railway station. The child is from a poor family and stayed in a small hut near Vashi railway station. The child is identified as Ragu Shinde. The boy’s mother had asked him to wait near a seat on the station and went to buy food for him. When she returned, the boy was missing.

After the child’s mother approached the Vashi police GRP, the police registered a kidnapping case against an unknown person. After examining the footage of CCTV cameras on the platforms, the police found that a man kidnapped the boy and boarded a Panvel train. However, the police was unable to trace the kid and the accused at any other railway station.

A police officer said, “We immediately sent a description of his clothes and photograph to every police team. At the time of the incident, the minor was wearing a green-and-white shirt and black pants. After watching CCTV footage, we were certain that the man who kidnapped the boy is a drug addict. Our main concern was that he could harm the boy.”

Another police officer added, “On Sunday early in the morning we have received a call from Kalwa GRP officials who asked us to come and identified the boy. We went along with his parents and got Raghu. He was found on the Kalwa station in the night and was crying. So a woman handed him over to police officials.”
