‘Mekhail informed about being Indrani’s son’

Mumbai: Pradeep Waghmare on Monday told the special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court that, Indrani Mukerjea’s biological son Mekhail Bora himself had told him on call that he was son of Indrani and Sheena Bora was Indrani’s daughter. Waghmare told this to court during his cross-examination by Indrani’s defence lawyers.

Waghmare is former domestic help of prime accused Indrani Mukerjea and her husband Peter Mukerjea.

Replying to questions asked by Indrani’s defence lawyers Sudeep Pasbola and Gunjan Mangala, Waghmare said that, he knew Mekhail and Sheena from 2006, and since then Mekhail used to contact him on phone.

He further said that, in 2013 or 2014 Mekhail himself had told him that he was Indrani’s son and Sheena was Indrani’s daughter. According to Waghmare, he never called Mekhail and met him only once in 2006. He also said that he met Sheena twice, for the first time in 2006 and then in 2011.

Indrani’s defence lawyers informed the court that they would complete cross-examination of Waghmare on Tuesday. After Indrani’s lawyers, the advocates defending other accused i.e. Sanjeev Khanna and Peter Mukerjea, will cross-examine Waghmare.
