Woman motorcycle coach hangs herself
Mumbai: Woman motorcycle coach Chetana Pandit (27), allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Goregaon’s Padmavati Nagar on Tuesday night due to unspecified personal reasons. The Dindoshi police has registered an Accidental Death Report. According to the police, the deceased, who was living as a paying guest with two other women, hanged herself from the ceiling fan when her roommates were away. She left behind a suicide note, which stated that she was “disappointed by failures in life” and that no one was responsible for her death.
According to the police, Chetana originally hailed from Shimoga in Karnataka and was a former women’s motorcycle coach and road captain at Enfield Riders. She worked at Dirt Bike Rider and was a student of NSS college. “We found a suicide note from her stating that she wanted to make it big but couldn’t do so, hence she was taking the extreme step. She seemed to be very ambitious,” said Rajaram Vhanmane, Senior Inspector of Dindoshi police station.
The reason for the suicide still remains a mystery as unconfirmed reports state that she ended her life following a break-up with her boyfriend, while other reports say it was due to her outstanding salary.
Police further added that Chetana was working for the Royal Enfield showroom in Andheri and would train women riders. The Dindoshi police said that they have filed an ADR and have handed over the body for the last rites to her brother and uncle who live in Tardeo. Her parents died quite a few years ago.
Chetana’s roommate Roshni said, “We are shocked and can’t understand why she took such a drastic step. We never heard of her facing any problem in her life. She was alone and a younger brother but we don’t have any information about her parents.”
Her roommates also revealed that she was a nice person, who never created any problems for anyone. She was mostly out of Mumbai on her Enfield tours, which she enjoyed a lot. She had been living with them for the last three to four months.
Talking to this paper, DCP Zone XII Vinyak Rathod said, “We had to send her body for post mortem. We found a suicide note, which stated, “No one should held responsible for my death. My wishes and dreams remained incomplete and that’s the reason I am taking such a drastic step.”
