Mumbai: Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray has demanded that chief minister Devendra Fadnavis keep his promise of withdrawing cases against activists who participated in the agitation for Maratha reservation. Maratha Kranti Morcha activists on Tuesday met Thackeray at his “Matoshree” residence in this regard.

In the violence that occurred during the Maratha stir across the state over the past two to three months and during the bandh, many cases were registered by the police and activists arrested. However, following strong reactions and political pressure, the CM announced that he would withdraw these cases registered against the workers. But the state government has not yet issued orders to this effect.

Maratha Kranti Morcha leaders on Tuesday met Thackeray and requested him to look into the issue. He assured them of Sena support.
